Belmont & Edgware Cricket Club v Windsor CC Sun 26, Sep 2004
Windsor CC 222 – 4
BECC 130 - 7
BECC lost by 92 runs

Match Report by Ashley Connick

After a long trek to Windsor, the BECC team took the field first. Ben Schwarz opened the bowling with Eddie Davis and, although he didn’t do much wrong, the Windsor opener seized on every bit of width available and scored quickly. Davis fared slightly better, going for only 6-an-over on a ground with small boundaries and good batsmen. Jeremy Freeman came into the attack and bowled very well, stemming the flow of runs somewhat. When Davis and Freeman finished their allotted overs, Weinberg and Myeroff took over. Myeroff kept it tight, as did Weinberg for the most part, and this saw BECC almost through to the end of the innings. Schwarz returned for a short burst at the end, and Ellis Tuhrim bowled one over in the middle of the innings. The fielding was tight in the most part, and at least one catch was dropped (sorry Ellis!).

Eddie and Stuart Davis opened the batting, and made a good start to a run chase that always looked like being tough. Stuart was dismissed in the third over, and Eddie soon after, leaving Trevor Woolf and Ashley Connick to steady the ship and try to get as close as possible to the target. Connick made a start but threw his wicket away after a silly call led to a run out. Woolf stayed in for a while longer, but he was out trying to force the pace. A little cameo innings from Weinberg, which included a huge six onto the tennis courts, was followed by some quick thinking and quick running from Blasebalk and Freeman, who saw the innings to a close.
